Popular musician and Nollywood actor Tony Muonagor a.k.a Tony one Week has criticised Chioma Akpotha for insulting Gideonokeke over comment he made about Chinwetalu Agu.

The comedian is of the opinion that Chinwetalu’s slang in movies are now almost demonic and anyone who supports Chiwetalu Agu’s persistent use of vulgar language has little or no moral foundation.

Man Caught With Human Skull In Oyo


A young man identified as Saheed Musiliu, was caught with the head of a corpse in Ibadan over the weekend.
According to Musiliu, he exhumed the corpse at the back of Basic Community Primary School in Olomi area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
Upon interrogation by the police, Musiliu confessed to have been in the act for a while. He said he exhumed the corpse, cut its head off and was preparing it for sale to those who intended to carry out money ritual.

Gambian president-elect, Barrow's 8 year old son killed

In a sad turn of events, the eight-year-old son of Gambian President-elect Adama Barrow has died after being bitten by a dog.

According to BBC, Habibu Barrow is reported to have died on the way to the hospital after Sunday's incident in Manjai near Banjul.His funeral has already taken place.
Mr Barrow is in the Senegalese capital Dakar ahead of his planned inauguration on Thursday.

Mr Barrow has two wives and four other children, according to reports.

Buhari Revised List Of 46 Ambassadorial Nominees To Senate

President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a revised list of 46 non-career ambassadors for confirmation to the senate.

This was contained in a letter read by Bukola Saraki, senate president, on the floor of the senate on Thursday.

“We submit the revised list of 46 non-career ambassadors for confirmation as ambassadors by the distinguished senate,” the letter by Buhari read.

“It is my hope that this will receive the usual attention of the senate.”

When Buhari first presented the list in November, the senate turned it down, with Monsurat Sunmonu, chairman senate committee on foreign affairs, saying: ‎”I suggest we return the list of non-career ambassadors to the executive so that they can re-present it. There are about 200 petitions against the nominees, and we don’t even know where to start.”

Buhari’s non-career ambassadorial list had caused friction in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to Cross River Government, this will be the first time anyone has ever welcomed a set of Quintuplets in the history of the state. Snake on board disrupts Emirates flight to Dubai

A snake on a plane prompted United Arab Emirates (UAE) carrier Emirates Airline to cancel one of its flights from Muscat, in neighboring Oman, to Dubai on Sunday, UAE daily Gulf News reported on Monday.
The daily quoted an Emirates spokesperson as saying that flight EK0863 from Muscat to Dubai was cancelled “due to the detection of a snake in the cargo hold prior to passengers boarding.”

The spokesperson said Emirates apologies to the passengers for the inconvenience caused.

The aircraft re-entered service after the snake was removed, the airline said.

Wild animals do appear on passenger planes from time to time, sometimes even in the cabins.

Mortgage bank unveils new branch in State of Osun

As part of its efforts in making banking services available to the nooks and crannies of State of Osun, Omoluwabi Mortgage Bank Plc has opened another branch in the ancient city of Ilesa.
The branch was commissioned by the state Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola who disclosed that the bank which was incorporated in 1993 is a licensed mortgage institution with primary responsibilities of providing mortgage banking services, housing and property development solutions and general financial services for the people.

He stated that it is a thing of joy for him that the commissioning of a new branch of the bank coming shortly after the commissioning of Ejigbo branch, in May 2016, the Board of Directors and Management of the bank have achieved a remarkable milestone with the commissioning of the Ilesa branch.

Lagos State Government To Install 16,000 Water Meters In February

The Lagos State Government is to begin the installation of 16,000 meters to regulate water supply in the state in February, 2017.

The Managing Director of the Lagos Water Corporation, LWC, Mr. Muminu Badmus who disclosed this on Friday at a news conference in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria said the installation would begin in February next year and would last for three months.

Badmus listed the pilot areas where the metering system would take off to include Surulere, Yaba, Ebute Meta, Itire, Iwaya, Lagos Island, Ikoyi, Victoria Island and Lekki Phase One.

He said the 16,000 meters would be installed in the first instance to put to rest the controversy over the volume of water supplied to each household and also curb wastage.

Magistrate Court Orders Commissioner of Police to arrest Oluwo of Iwo

A magistrate’s court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State has ordered the Commissioner of Police, Fimihan Adeoye, to arrest Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, and bring him to court on January 6.

The magistrate, Olusola Aluko, gave the fresh order on Friday when the case involving the monarch came up for hearing again.

He said he was surprised that the police commissioner had not arrested Oluwo since he first issued the bench warrant of arrest against the First Class monarch.

Aluko expressed dismay that the police commissioner had not effected the bench warrant of arrest he had issued against the monarch, which he said he had signed and handed over to an officer of the state police command.

Abbah Kyari becomes youngest Assistant Commissioner of Police in Nigeria

Adekunle used to work with the music label as a graphics designer and he designed the YBNL logo. Nigeria oil workers suspend plan to embark on strike

The two major workers’ unions in the oil and gas industry on Tuesday resolved to immediately shelve their ongoing strike and the one planned for January 9, 2017.
The decision to shelve the actions was taken by the leaderships of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, and National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, after their meeting with the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, Tuesday in Abuja.
The two unions had threatened to embark on a three-day nationwide warning strike by January 9, 2017, over what they termed “anti-labour practices by International Oil Companies (IOCs).”
The threat followed allegations by the Chevron Nigeria Limited chapter of the NUPENG that about 250 of its members were sacked by the company after declaring their contract not binding, because it could not trace the company that employed them as contract workers.
Again, PENGASSAN members working in ExxonMobil were to embark on a protest penultimate Wednesday, which grounded normal business at the company’s operations headquarters at Qua Iboe terminal, Ibeno and the company’s Lagos office.

The decision was taken after Arik Air wokers had started a strike causing the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to intervene

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has intervened in the Arik Air crisis and strike commenced by the airlines labour unions over the unpaid salaries and illegal deductions.

As a result of the intervention, Arik Air represenatives have promised that the company will pay all salary arrears to its workers this Friday, December 23.

The unions that include the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE), Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN) and the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE) in their turn agreed to stop the strike.

Calabar Man beats Wife to Coma for investing children's fees in MMM


A 45-year-old man identified as Mark Friday, has been arrested in Calabar, the Cross River State, for allegedly beating his wife to a coma for allegedly using the money meant for their children’s school fees to invest in the MMM Ponzi scheme.
According to Inside Calabar, Mr. Friday had given his wife, Ekamma, the sum of N280,000 to pay their three children’s fees but seeing a quick opportunity to make fast money, the wife invested all the money in MMM without telling her husband, hoping to pay up after  making the extra money for herself.

The Lagos State Government said it was ready to roll out the Lake Rice to Lagosians at N13,000 per 50 kg towards the Yuletide celebrations.

"The state government has put in place a committee that will ensure that Lagosians have the best Christmas celebration, that is why we are offering the wholesome and well packaged rice."

Ghana's Nana Akufo-Addo Wins Presidential Election

Nana Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party has won Ghana’s presidential election with an absolute majority over President John Mahama, two influential private radio stations said on Friday.

Joy FM showed the opposition candidate winning 53.27 percent of the vote and Mahama with 44.93 percent. The results, the station said was based on its count of 233 constituencies, out of 275.

LAUTECH Students Allege Police Fired Shots At Them During Peaceful Protest (Video)

According to the student, LAUTECH has been on strike since June, 2016 and they decided to make a peaceful protest today asking when they would resume back in school. The students blocked the road linking Oyo to Ilorin through Ogbomoso just to make their grievance known without putting any act or form of hooliganism and this occurred.
